Blue Sky Travel was established in 1975 as a joint-stock company. It is licensed by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities under licence No. 97, Category A. Its head office is on Mahmoud Basiony Street in the Al-Azbakeya district of Cairo governorate, and it has 9 branches in Aswan, the Red Sea, Giza, Cairo, South Sinai, and Qena governorates, including branches in Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and 6th of October City. The company offers Umrah and Hajj programs, domestic and outbound tour packages, Nile cruises to Luxor, Aswan, and Lake Nasser, flight ticket booking, visas, and tourist transport with its own fleet of buses and cars. It also offers hotel booking through sister companies that run hotels in Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and Marsa Alam. Blue Sky Travel is a member of several international tourism associations, including the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), and the Universal Federation of Travel Agents' Associations (UFTAA).
