About the hotel

Al Ansar Golden Tulip sits in the Bada'ah district in central Madinah, on Abdul Rahman Bin Awf Street next to the Court of Law building, in the central area close to the Prophet's Mosque. The hotel is about 330 m from the Haram, roughly a 4-5 minute walk to King Fahd Gate on the northern side, which makes it a practical base for pilgrims who want to move easily between their room and the mosque for the five daily prayers. The property belongs to the international Golden Tulip brand, part of the French Louvre Hotels Group, holds a 3-star rating and carries an official Saudi tourism licence, so guests get a recognised and licensed standard of service in the heart of Madinah. According to some listings, the hotel opened in 2014 and was refurbished in 2015.

The hotel has around 300 rooms, which according to some listings are split between Standard Rooms and Quadruple Rooms suited to families and small groups. Rooms come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, a tea and coffee kettle and an in-room safe, plus a private bathroom with a shower and a bidet; a number of rooms have a balcony, and non-smoking rooms are available. An elevator serves the floors, which matters for older guests returning from prayers. For dining, the on-site restaurant serves a varied halal menu that ranges across local, Asian and European dishes, with options such as Indian, Indonesian, Turkish, Moroccan and Italian cooking as well as seafood, aimed at pilgrims arriving from many countries. There is also a coffee shop for coffee and light bites, and room service for guests who prefer to eat in their room.

Children of all ages are welcome: children under 6 (up to two) stay free without an extra bed, extra beds are available on request, and baby cots are not provided. The front desk is open 24 hours, with a concierge service and express check-in, and the hotel also offers a business center, a fitness center and free WiFi. On-site parking is available for a fee. Pets are not allowed, and the property is alcohol-free, like every hotel in Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims should set expectations accordingly: this is a 3-star hotel that focuses on its closeness to the Haram and essential services rather than luxury facilities, and some guest reviews mention slow elevators and uneven housekeeping between rooms, so it is worth checking the room on arrival. Cancellation terms vary by rate type, so review them before confirming a booking.
